Sketch Across the World 2021 - the Elan Valley part 2
For our Sketch Across the World 2021 creative adventure, we went to the Elan Valley. After sketching on the mountain road in the morning, Kath (The Walking Sketchbook) and I relocated to the river for the afternoon.
I started with inks here, playing with a range of pens. I then added watercolour.
I enjoyed this setting so much that I wanted to paint more. So I turned around and faced downstream and did another one!
I loved playing with lots of different mediums with this piece too - all the pens, pencils, ink and watercolour!
It was beautiful by the river. So peaceful, and sunny and calm. We lost a couple of hours happily creating independently, about 20m or so apart on the river bank. It is lovely to have a creative adventure this way - doing your own thing and then meeting up to chat about what you have each created.
