Visiting the studio

Alice Draws the Line studio in Brampton Bryan, Herefordshire, SY70DH

My studio is in the picturesque village of Brampton Bryan. It is balanced on the borders of Herefordshire, Shropshire and Powys. The village postcode is SY70DH.

I am in the old blacksmiths (the forge), which is right next door to Forge Hair, on the crossroads, with the main Knighton - Leintwadine road and the Lingen - Coxall road. I look out at the spectacular yew hedge and over towards the Church. 

There is shared parking outside the studio and the hairdressers next door, or parking space by the church or if you are visiting Elderwood Books (bookshop and cafe in the village) they have a good car park too.

I'm afraid I don't keep set opening hours - it just isn't busy enough here for me to promise to be here at all hours. However, if the lights are on, visitors are welcome! 

Open Studios - this year I’m joining in with the Lower Buckton Open Studios group, who are just in the neighbouring hamlet to Brampton Bryan. A selection of us will be open on the second Saturday of the month until November. The dates are - 

  • Saturday 13th June
  • Saturday 11th July
  • Saturday 8th August
  • Saturday 12th September
  • Saturday 10th October
  • Saturday 14th November

I’ll be in my studio in Brampton Bryan as usual (SY70DH), on the Lingen road junction from 10am-3pm, and the others you can find at Lower Buckton Barns, (SY70JU).

I’ll also fling open the studio doors on Scarecrow Sunday - 2nd August 2026 as a bonus Open Studio!

This year, for the first time I’m opening my Studio for Herefordshire Art Week, Saturday 5th until Sunday 13th September. I am venue 14 and you can see the info on their website here.

If I'm running a workshop I pop a sign on the door to say so - the space isn't really big enough for shop browsers and workshop goers so it closes while these are in progress. 

If you are planning on making a trip to visit, do get in touch beforehand to make sure I'll be here and not away at a market / the post office/ sketching in the hills!
